The shooting occurred in the 19300 block of Archdale Road on March 23, 2024, officials said.

An investigation revealed that [b]16-year-old Jaiden Ochieng[/b] arrived at the location in a stolen Hyundai around 2:59 p.m., according to officials.

A 15-year-old boy got off of a school bus nearby shortly after. Ochieng then got out of the Hyundai and chased after the teen, officials said.

He pulled out a handgun and shot at the teen, who was not injured, according to officials. After the shooting, Ochieng left the scene.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found two shell casings in the area of Trophy Court and Archdale Road, officials said.

During their investigation, detectives identified Ochieng as the suspect in the shooting.

Officers then obtained a warrant charging Ochieng with attempted murder, assault and use of a firearm, according to officials.

On Friday, September 6, Ochieng was arrested in the 13300 block of Copper Ridge Road. [b]Officers also recovered a loaded handgun that Ochieng allegedly tossed before the arrest[/b], officers said.
