This only applies to D1 athletes and really Power 4 athletes. I guess Davidson and Richmond may now lose out on some athletes that want more than just a full scholarship…but that’s not really a big consideration for them. The change to roster sizes is more relevant. Baseball dropping to 34 players (from some programs having 45 on their Fall roster and then cutting to 40 in the Spring) will send more D1 players to D3…but that will make D3 teams more competitive.[/quote]
