I have relatives who forward multiple memes or videos to me EVERY SINGLE DAY and this behavior is upsetting to me for the following reasons. 1. It's so generic. I don't feel any love just because you forward me a bunch of memes every morning. I would much rather you check in with me personally. A "hi, how are you" every few days can go a long way. 2. These memes are often over the top inspirational. I don't want to be subjected every morning to a "Marvelous Monday," "Terrific Tuesday," "Wonderful Wednesday," meme, etc. EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING. 3. It is using up tons of space on my phone and it takes a lot of time for me to be constantly deleting. 4. I don't have the time to watch 3 minute videos every day from multiple people about how beautiful life is or whatever the topic may be. I understand if this is how my family members want to display love but when I ignore the messages can't they take the hint? I don't mind the occasional meme/video. In fact I'm more inclined to read/watch them and respond because they feel more meaningful. I've tried discussing with one relative why another relative does this and they seemed offended. Now they've started doing it themselves. I heard from one relative that when her own husband asked her to please stop she got mad that he would ask her that and she continued to do it anyway. I was secretly happy that he had asked her and was hoping she would take the hint. Why do people do this? It's particularly frustrating when family does this because I can't just block them. In the grand scheme of things I realize this is not a major issue but I find it upsetting and hate that I am subjected to this every day. What does everyone do to cope?
