The boundary changes scheduled to coincide with the new elementary school are very unlikely to affect property values because all the schools in the mix currently have good reputations.

High school boundaries won't change until 2015. This was explained in one of the presentation slides. [/quote]

Real estate ads even promote Barrett Elementary a very good school, but more diverse and and lower test scores than Taylor for example. I don't think there are any schools in N Arlington that will depress property values.

I'm just speculating, but if a significant number of W-L neighborhoods went to Wakefield and a smaller number of Yorktown neighborhoods went to W-L then the population between the three high schools would balance out and W-L and Yorktown won't be grossly overcrowded as predicted. I think everyone understands that the the high school boundaries will eventually move, because all the elementary kids will be in high school in a few years. [/quote]
