I haven’t had stroke instruction since I was a kid myself and want to improve my lap swimming form. I have been looking at some “intermediate” adult swim lessons at Long Branch via Arlington Rec, which is an ideal location just over the bridge from our home. But while we had good luck getting into AAC out of county for my daughter, their adult classes and lessons fill up fast with Arlington residents. I’ve also not had luck with Rumsey pool for DC DPR - their adult lessons are like 10 am on weekdays. I work from home with some ability to be away from my desk during the day, but those times just wouldn’t work. Most of the other aquatic centers in DC are inconveniently located. We live in SW DC near the Wharf and already commute to school in Georgetown and back 1-2x a day, so wherever I swim would ideally be in this zone - between Navy Yard, SW, downtown, Foggy Bottom, Georgetown, or because we usually take 395-110-Key Bridge to school, Rosslyn and of course, Long Bridge (Crystal City/Pentagon). I’d like a place that does group or individual lessons, and has lap swim availability without a lot of hassle. Also important is condition of the facilities - I’m not looking for luxury but need clean showers and nothing hazardous. I also need parking that isn’t outrageous (less than $10 an hour). Am I unrealistic in what I’m looking for?
