Has anyone's kid ever skipped AMP7+ and just gone straight into Algebra in 7th? Kid passed AMP6+ basically eyes-closed and was bored, and spent the summer doing Khan Academy for fun. What's in AMP7+ that's essential for Algebra, and is it possible to just augment w/ tutoring and/or outside instruction?
Oh boy. I think there are at least three concurrent threads on middle school math placement? AMP6+ covers 6th grade math and the first half of 7th grade math, and AMP7+ covers the second half of 7th and all of 8th - which is the "missing material" you are asking about. For that specific content, I would suggest checking the math resources at MCPS' website or your specific MS, which should have links to the curriculum, or check in with your MS math department.
OP of the Middle school Math thread. I'm guessing this is a troll thread :D
I am not a troll, and yours isn't the only special snowflake good at math and struggling in MCPS's math class maze. Sorry you're not that unique, I guess.
I never called mine a special snowflake but apparently you think yours is
