Huge fan of College Essay Guy. DD did the 4-week online course last summer. I think it was about $300 and totally worth it. His planning tools and push to show not tell really helped. I listened in on the first session and really appreciated how he spoke with students. Very positive and supportive. The personal essay is like nothing else they’ve had to write.

I believe that there are editor/consultant services one can hire through College Essay Guy.

Our coach was really helpful with essay feedback.  Spent more than 2 hours because she is very interactive and asks a lot of questions w/follow up (won't offer wording), so the essays stay the kid's voice/work. It takes time, but, she charges less (close to half) than $150/hr. Kid in at Brown, NU, Dartmouth and LACs.  Happy to post contact info if people are interested. She's also really good at advising on videos, arts supplements and financial aid (helped us save 10k).[/quote]
