I make the King Arthur Flour recipe, and it’s really not hard! So much better than store bought.
Take a little bit of time, but the recipe makes quite a few and they’re far superior to store bought. The recipe itself is very simple.
Agreed. I can get at least 18 XL muffins from a batch. They freeze well, too. I make them on my electric griddle. It looks like King Arthur removed the exact recipe I use from their website! But here’s a copy on another blog: https://www.deepfriedhoney.com/english-muffins/#tasty-recipes-9776-jump-target
A little bit more time? There is a 2 hr rise. Then you have to cook them on a griddle 10-15 min, per side. How many can even fit on the griddle? Mine could probably do 8. So that’s almost an hour of cooking standing at the stove, babysitting them, after the longish rise. I keep wanting to make them, but the time is an issue.
You realize you don’t have to hover over them when they’re rising?
