At least mine aren’t nor are their friends/my nephews or nieces. I remember being terrified of them as a kid. It felt like a very kid thing for generations to be afraid of thunder (think of The Sound of Music). My friends and I were talking and we have a theory. So many kids these days use sound machines. Our kids loved sleeping to the thunderstorm setting and a few other parents said the same thing. Others used white noise, rain, rain, river, ocean but they’re all fairly loud constant noises . Did this cause kids to be desensitized to thunder storms? Just a funny little thought. Wondering if other parents outside my circle have experienced the same thing.
I'm in mid-fifties and was never afraid of thunderstorms and, in fact, loved them. What's to be afraid of when you're inside. We knew not to talk on phone or stand next to a window and if outside not to stand under a tree.
