I don't want to be presumptuous or invade an event where we aren't welcome but I think it would be very helpful for our kid to get a chance to meet some peers and teachers before the first day if we can. Is this weird? Would it be weird for me to reach out to the school in early August to ask if we can attend this stuff (or would this help let them know we are very interested and will accept a spot if offered)?
