But it’s awful late now to bring someone completely new in, for several reasons I don’t need to rehash here. This is why the VP decision made 4 years ago was so critical- there was always a decent chance he would not be able to run again and the VP would be viewed as a top candidate to be his successor. Harris was not my top choice at the time, I’m not sure she was even Biden’s personal top choice. But his campaign boxed themselves in by pledging to choose a VP that was both female and a POC.
