No. This was already our policy at our high school and plenty of times the retake was harder and my kid got a B- on the test and a C on the retake (so he just kept the B-). They was almost always remediation before the retake as well. It is more work for teachers but many teachers were positive about it when they explained it at BTSN. They said the point is that they learn the content and if it takes a few extra tries it doesn’t matter. It also lessens the pressure if you have a big play or game or Latin convention and get off track. You will be busy but you can try again. It’s not a problem. It will be fine. I hear all about my cousins across the country and every school is different and colleges get that. One cousin gets plus 1.0 for any honors classes and takes a study hall as one of her 7 classes. Another has all these A+ grades so her GPA is like a 4.7. In the end colleges read through the profiles and compare the students with the other students in their school and figure out who should go where. It’ll be fine. Except for the teachers making up all the extra tests for a second try. Sorry teachers. We’ll send wine.
