[/quote] +1 Elite swimmers do summer season for fun, but if there is a competitive meet where they can get event times they need, they won't hesitate to skip an A meet - no matter how much the team needs the points they would accrue. As for vacations, we've had a few kids take a weekend trip and miss a single A meet, but for the most part they don't.[/quote] +2. There are also several weeks until club champs meets start which allow for weekend getaways. My swimmer also starts back to school in mid August so with zones running until August 10th, avoiding taking time off that would conflict with summer swim was not a priority. [/quote]
