It's not the swimmers that are the issue. It's all the volunteers that will be standing around in sun for multiple hours.  Ideally teams should set up tents for the timers and officials.[/quote]

Maybe you could arrange to switch out timing with another parent. Ours schedules first half and second half timers.

Meet officials shouldn’t complain unless you are holding up the meet.
