Very different places! If you are within 3 miles of the coast in LA you probably won't even need air conditioning. Arizona will be a blazing hot hellscape.
Is this accurate ? Hard to believe that one could be this far from the coast & not need a/c.
Yes. Most older homes in places like Santa Monica and Venice do not have A/C. The ocean moderates the temperatures. In the summer rarely above 80 or below 65 at night in the summer. This is August 2023 monthly data for LAX which is about 2 miles inland (depending on where the exact spot is): https://www.wunderground.com/history/monthly/us/ca/los-angeles/KLAX/date/2023-8 Now,, go further inland, or into the San Fernando Valley, and it gets real hot because that ocean moderation is gone. Here is Burbank. Over 100 in late August. https://www.wunderground.com/history/monthly/us/ca/burbank/KBUR/date/2023-8
Or check current temps right now in Culver City versus Pasadena. 15 degrees cooler in Culver City, which is around 4 miles from the ocean, versus 25 miles for Pasadena.
