Check out glucose goddess on instagram and her book. Implement her hacks and reduce spikes and cravings. It has helped me a lot although I haven’t give up sweets completely yet.
This. You don't need to cut it out completely. The biggest thing is to not have it on an empty stomach. This will spike your glucose and set you up for intense cravings. If you eat something with a lot of fiber before having something sweet, the glucose spike will not be as extreme. That should also help with cravings. Just make it a rule to have something savory and high fiber before any sweets. Also, ALWAYS start your day with something savory.
Interesting - there must be very differently wired brains and bodies. Savory for me causes a trigger for sweet. Empty or full stomach. Lots of fiber also =craving. I have found I just have to not have it available to make it work.
What kind of savory breakfast do you eat?
Greek Yogurt, eggs (scrambled, omelet etc) Avocado toast, smoked salmon - pretty much what the Glucose Goddess recommends
