Are honors (HN) courses weighted with an additional 0.5 quality points or unweighted? For example Algebra 1 HN with grade A and math 7 with grade A both get 4 for gpa?
It has to be Math 7 Honors.
Math 7 HR and Algebra 1 HR are two different challenge level, but weighted the same?
Yep. There is no weighting for honors vs. regular, and there is no bonus for being on a more difficult math track. If we ignore essay based points and just look at GPA: If Kid 1 is taking AAP for all subjects and is in pre-calc Honors in 8th, got As in everything except 1 A- in 7th grade AAP English, and Kid 2 is taking honors social studies and science, regular English, and Algebra I in 8th, but got As in everything, Kid 2 will have more "points" for GPA in the application process.
