Short athletic shorts like Lululemon hottie hot and Nike Pros. Fitted sleeveless tank tops in solid colors - they can be from anywhere and don’t need to be cropped but can be. Short frayed Jean shorts. Boxy cropped t shirts. Hoodies, with or without zippers. Switch the natives for crocs and get her some Nike crew socks with the black swoosh.
+1 to all of this. My rising 7th grader is sporty but doesn’t not like the so short your rear is hanging out shorts and she (and I) find the 4 inch Lululemon hottie hots work. The Athleta Girl run free shorts are a less expensive alternative. The graphic tees from Hollister, Aerie and Altar’d State are also a favorite. My DD doesn’t fit into the frayed jean shorts from those stores yet, but we found some at Zara that work because they had specific sizes for 11-12 year olds. The Nike crew socks are hugely popular, as are Birkenstocks.
+2
