My husband has been overweight his whole life. He exercises alot and I would call him fat but cardiovascularly (?) fit. He has lost about 15 lbs on his own, for the umpteenth time. When he’s on he’s on and when he’s off he’s off. I’m wondering if a very conservative dose of a weight loss drug could really help him. He has high blood pressure, borderline a1c, and high ldl. He does best when he loses weight very slowly. Can you use these drugs in this way and stay at low doses just for a bit of a push?
I’m on Mounjaro for weight loss and very active online in support groups. Mounjaro and Zepbound are the same medication; Mounjaro is designated for diabetes treatment and Zepbound for obesity treatment. Both Mounjaro and Zepbound range in doses with a starting dose of 2.5mg followed by 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg. There are plenty of people on low doses of 2.5 or 5 who do quite well and lose a lot of weight. Others don’t see results until they move up to higher doses.
