I am 50 years old, 5'4" and 132 lbs. I would really like to get back down to around 126. I exercise daily, avoid processed carbs and sugar (except for a small square of dark chocolate per day), and am not intaking more than 1300-1400 calories a day. After four months of doing this, my weight has stayed exactly the same. I really despise HITT workouts, and cannot see myself sticking to them on a regular basis, but I do weight training in addition to cardio. Is it possible that my weight is never going to get to where I want it? What is wrong with me?
You will get hate for this post, but I empathize with you including the issue of your clothes. I am same age and am a person who maintained my body weight my entire life outside of pregnancy so all my clothes are one size. I gained 10 lbs and none of them fit right. So it was either lose the weight or buy a whole new wardrobe. I walked 45 minutes every day, did some more intense cardio combined with weights when I had time (mostly weekends and I tried to fit it in 1 day during the week) and I ate less. For me it was skipping lunch, which for me isn't a big deal. I cut out all sweets and no alcohol. I get busy at work and the day flies by. I have never counted calories. But in the end, what I did that worked I think was just eating less.
