[/quote] The advantage of not in a class is similar to that of private lessons in music. Undivided focus from someone who can work directly with the child on technique. The advantage of someone willing to come to you should be obvious. Art teachers get paid squat; I think it's nice to have someone willing to pony up a convenience fee. -- niece of a retired art teacher who runs a few classes and has a couple of private clients, but isn't located within five hundred miles of the DC area, so the amount you'd have to compensate her for travel up here would be rather extreme.[/quote]
