All public schools in MD have 180 days of school. Not sure how your math is mathing. PG does they half days as asynchronous because it gives the teachers time to get caught up at the end of the quarter without having to babysit a bunch of kids who are there on a compressed schedule.
I am listing out the total days closed from start to finish and comparing it to other counties. Look at the calendar and count it yourself. AA has same start and end date. Carroll starts 3rd not 26th and has the same end date so 5 days difference which was accounted for. HoCo starts same day, ends 2 days earlier. And I realize that it sounds petty but from the employer perspective there is a lot more grace given for "summer" or "winter break" or "spring break" vs having a random day off especially when their kids arent off. And yes, virtual asynchronous is devious and should not be allowed.
