In the last five years I have carried a purse exactly once because I needed to carry both my work and personal phone. It was at a conference and I was constantly leaving my purse after I set it down. What a pain! I make sure everything I wear has pockets and wish women's pockets were as generous as men's. Very occasionally I buy a skirt or dress without pockets and have the seamstress at the dry cleaners put them in.
This is genius! I havent carried a purse in a long time either. Too fussy. Just give me pockets.
I have tried to wear dresses with pockets and put my phone and wallet in my pockets. It weighs down the dress and makes it hard to wear. Not an issue if you're wearing pants that are tight at the waistband. My husband just uses a wallet clip instead of a wallet and puts keys, wallet clip and phone in his pockets. If we're sight seeing, he has a small black backpack he uses to carry water and food. I've seen a lot of teenaged boys with waist band straps that are under their shirts. Boys don't have belt loops on a lot of their athletic pants and athletic pants can't bear the weight of a phoen.
