As of this morning, I am 215lbs, down from 255. Which is great. 40 pounds is a lot, I know that. But, I am still wearing the same size clothes. 2X. I tried on a bunch of XXL and nope - while I can get them on, they hug all the fat rolls. So I lost 40 pounds and am still the same size. The only slight difference is when I put on my t-shirts, I don't have to sit with my knees up to my chest under the shirt to stretch it out. Obviously people have been taught not to comment on weight but nobody's made any comments about me looking healthy or good or any other euphemisms for having lost weight. So I lost 40 lbs and nothing's changed, except now if I eat too much I feel sick. (Which I know is good - my stomach shrank or whatever.) I just wish I could see a real difference - my doctor had said if I lost 10% of my body weight I'd be able to lower the dose of my thyroid medication but when blood work was done she kept it the same. So not even that changed.
Have you tried 1x. XXL and 2x are not the same. It technically goes L, XL, XXL, 1x, 2x, etc. My sister lost 45 lbs to go from 320 to 275. I couldn't tell at all. Her face looked a bit slimmer but as far as her body, I didn't notice it. I DID notice her change in attitude, energy & stamina. We went on our annual NYC trip over the holidays and she was able to keep up with us without lots of breaks. And at that point, she was probably only 30ish pounds down. She's now down to 240 and when I last saw her at Easter, I was finally able to notice the difference in her size. Don't be too discouraged! 40 pounds down is a huge accomplishment!
