Certain classes are required to get the AS, but there are options for things like technical electives, that have to be carefully chosen depending on which engineering discipline a student wants. Transfer Virginia has good resources for some of the Engineering majors as UVA (and other schools). Some students are able to complete the  2 (nvcc) + 2 (uva) plan for their 4 year degree, others may take an extra semester or two. It usually depends on the student, courses taken and the course requirements for a particular engineering major. 
 
NVCC is part of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS), so the documents on Transfer Virginia apply to all VCCS schools, not just NVCC. [/quote]
