ECNL II teams work to develop the players to get to ECNL and have guest playing opportunities, especially at tournaments. ECNL II teams and GA 2 teams are for kids who have potential to get to the 1st team and it’s also a marketing gimmick to have quality players stick around (as they are on a designated ECNL team in paper) and not leave the club.
