[/quote] At my kids MS (JW) they have or had an awards night where every 8th grade teacher gave an award to the student of their choice for any reason they wanted. Parents of kids getting awards are invited but not told what type of award their child was getting. It was a very nice event. Kids were recognized for all kinds of things some academic and some not. I thought it was a great event. Each teacher introduced their kid with a short description. My child who was struggled academically got an award and we were all thrilled for him.[/quote]
