My kid has played with Arlington at the younger ages in the Super Y league; it's been a good experience. Every interaction I've had with SYC coaching staff and parents at the younger ages has been dismal -- screaming coaches, dirty play (e.g., intentional fouls at young ages), foul language, aggressive parents, etc. SYC has had some success in the younger age groups, but as some have noted some of the SYC coaches have just moved to Arlington. Hopefully, they don't bring the trash game to Arlington.
Are the coaches associated with the “some success in the younger age groups” the same as the coaches who moved over to Arlington, and per chance do you know if they are bringing any of the aggressive parents with them?
I don't know, sorry. I don't pay attention too much to the particulars of the individual coaches enough to know their names or where they've moved to; some folks on the boards here can probably chime in. I do have the vague notion that at least some of the SYC screamers are headed to Arlington. But I'm sure plenty will remain at SYC. I'm hoping that, as a longstanding club with a decent organization, Arlington doesn't let any coach, including new arrivals from SYC, run amok with behavior like what I've seen from SYC.
You would be surprised what some will allow in order to achieve results. You've got the two loudest screamers from syc.
