[/quote] DP. I looked a couple of weeks ago, and there was a surprising amount of availability. I keep hearing that bookings on STRs are down, so maybe it's true in Maine, as well. Also, there are many schools that start back in August, so the last week of August is usually not as booked. The last long weekend that includes Labor Day does get booked up, but you can often find availability if you're willing to leave on Friday.
