A separate grinder is needed with most brewers.  I use and like a Breville Smart Coffee Grinder Pro, but you can find grinders at higher and lower price points with larger and smaller footprints to suit your budget and space.

Some superautomatic coffee machines will grind and brew with one touch without needing a separate grinder, and most make a wide range of coffee drinks like espresso, cappuccino, latte, flat white, lungo, and others, depending on the brand and model.  They are typically fairly expensive, however.  Krups is one company which makes such machines which brew regular coffee as well as a variety of specialty coffee drinks.  Some other brands/models do not brew regular coffee, only espresso-based drinks.

One caveat about superautomatics - you usually cannot remove and clean the burrs in the grinder mechanism so you should not use oily beans which over time will leave a built-up residue on the burrs.  That still gives you an essentially infinite choice of beans, but you're restricted to lighter/medium roasts, since dark roasts are often too oily.  [/quote]
