I knew two women who swore that once they stopped wearing deoderant and used fragrance-free detrrgent on their clothes, they sweat less from their armpits and didn't smell. I've never been brave enough to try but I can say that neither of these women had a noticeable odor to me. As for me, I give my pits a break at least one day and sometimes two on the weekend unless I'm going out in the evening. I've noticed that stress sweat smells worse than everyday sweat, so I don't have too much of a problem.
I've done this and it is true. Anti-perspirant *tries* to prevent sweating, which means all the toxins in your body can't get out. When you do sweat, you smell. When you stop using deodorant, you may sweat more and smell worse at first, but your body will adjust. After you have adjusted, try a natural deodorant (I bought something from Etsy) and also have used Welda Spray Deodorant. I still sweat, and sometimes smell, but I feel better about my choices. If I need to, I can always use regular deodorant. Also, drink lots of water and try to eat healthy - meats and sweets do make you smell worse when you sweat.
