Sorry. Loved her cute waifish tennis patterned high fashion dresses 👗 n various red carpets but it will be very difficult to take her as a serious, ranked athlete unless she gained 20 pounds of actual muscle. Who cast this? It’s distracting and too fake. She looks anorexic. Maybe she’ll sell more tickets sure, but she’s a total lightweight to be playing an athlete. Should have done what the williams sister/will smith movie casting route - at least pick someone more believable as a tennis pro.
You are spot on about how she is all wrong for the role of an athlete. Her back muscles especially are non-existent. It is impossible to play good tennis without decent lats (latissimus dorsi). It’s a commentary on how far Hollywood still has to go. They never would have cast an athlete female in this role since she would be too muscular for the tastes of the casting directors. So they cast someone who looks like she would be unable to generate any level of power or stamina. And assumed we’d all be too dumb to even notice.
This movie is an insult to women’s tennis.
