It took a year of weekly tutoring to get my then 3rd grader up to speed in reading/writing after she learned nothing in the virtual year. She's now working with a math tutor weekly, and that will continue through the summer so that she is prepared for 6th grade, which I've heard is kind of the transition point for math (meaning it gets harder and harder to catch up after 6th). Games are great for maintenance, but to actually learn, she needs a tutor.[/quote]
