My kid attended one club "makeup" tryout at Metro (and is not playing there), but we forgot to unsubscribe from their mailing list. Here is what they recently sent about their summer opportunities: Metro Summer Camps
Expensive and not good for technique improvement. we attended one last year, not recommend for serious players.
I felt the opposite about Metro clinics. My daughter (who was a beginner) did not benefit much from them. However, the more advanced players (probably that's what you mean by "serious players"), practiced some pretty advanced skills. I do agree that they are expensive, and - on top of that - they are also crowded. Finding cheaper clinics could be hard because most clubs offer them at similar prices. If you are looking for cheaper clinics, you can try county or city clinics, but the coaches are not very experienced. I doubt that "serious" or less than "serious" players benefit a lot from those clinics.
