Op 'll be honest the people who reply to your people who were not up until 10:00 10:30 every night because their kid had to have two and a half hours of rest time. If they did they wouldn't say you're putting too much weight on it. Only you know your kid and whether a 5-minute nap and a 2-hour nap are the same. Almost all kids when told to sit still and lay on a cot with music playing will eventually fall asleep but it will take them 2 hours. And when nap time or rest time is until 3:00 3:30 there's not enough sleep pressure for a low sleep needs kid. And don't get me started on how my kid felt bad because he couldn't sit still for 2 and 1/2 hours while everybody else napped. And how we provided bags for activities quiet activities every single day and he's only provided them sometimes It's not a required regulation it's not in comar. And for some kids it's not appropriate. Make sure your preschool has options for kids who no longer nap and the option cannot be they have to sit on their cot quietly. There are definitely preschools although they are few and far between that either offer a reduced time for nap so like 1 hour or they have a policy where if a kid doesn't fall asleep within 30 minutes and they're allowed to quietly play on the other side of the room or just don't have nap time at all. Unfortunately for us none of them had openings.
