I’ve seen so many people of all backgrounds around my area with these tags lately. Young and old, people of color and Caucasian. I assumed these were politics related for many years. Now that a mixed race LGBTQ couple who are our neighbors, have recently gotten these tags, I’m wondering if I was incorrect. What is going on with the popularity?
I mean, the Gadsden Flag is about as political as it gets, going back to the founding of our country. I do agree it's kind of lost its meaning. And its use to signal hostility to fellow citizens is beyond the pale.
It's not used to signal hostility. It's literally about limits on government power. If anything, it fits perfectly into a leftist oppressor/oppressed narrative except for the fact that it calls for people to be independent in thought and action.
