Who are the movie or tv characters that don't fit the role they're supposed to have in their story? So not the issue with actor being miscast, but you don't perceive the character as they're presented in the show context. First example that come to mind is Beth from Yellowstone. It ruins the show for me how she has the upper hand and intimidates everyone, whereas the suitable response to her antics should be: 'STFU and go sit in the corner.' Kelly from Beverly Hills as the school hot chick is also unbelievable, but maybe the memory is starting to fade regarding what was considered hot in the 90s.
I think Jennie Garth was perfect in that role. She was the ideal California girl. I found it more unbelievable that Dylan would ever go for Brenda. Not that she was unattractive, just wasn't anything special with no personality other than insecure and whiny.
NP, I agree with PP, not convinced with Kelly. Jennie Garth looked like the hot chick for a high school in some rural cornfield town in Indiana. She did not look sophisticated enough to be from Beverly Hills. I find Brenda way more believable.
They were both believable! That's why the show was popular.
