The white people not using washcloths is the funniest stereotype about white people I've heard. I am white and I use a washcloth, but my, also white, dh does not. I have never understood the washcloth debate. I am white and grew up using a wash cloth, as did my white DH. However, as an adult, I for a time switched to a loofah, and then eventually realized that I think I do a better job cleaning with just my hands. Eventually my DH also came around to this way of thinking. Obviously we are using soap. To be the washcloth or loofah was superfluous. The main thing it's offering is exfoliation, but you can also exfoliate using a scrub, exfoliating gloves, or dry brushing (all of which I've done, dry brushing works best for me). Eventually I just decided I didn't want to deal with the laundry/cleanliness issue of the washcloth (you have to hang it to dry so you aren't putting something damp in the hamper, then have enough washcloths on hand to have a fresh one daily -- it's just a pain).

How does a washcloth get you cleaner than just soap and water?[/quote]
