FCPS does a project (at our school it was the "Global Access Technology Project" where they made a webpage that was basically a research essay in web format) in lieu of the SOL test. That change was approved sometime around the pandemic, but I don't think it was related to pandemic school closures.[/quote] Yes, we do that for the HS Social Studies SOL as well. Students have to write 2 essays in World 2 in lieu of the SOL. If they are in World 1, they have to write 3 (no idea why it is more in this class). [/quote]
