This.  But also, network.  People know your boss better than they know you.  My terrible boss keeps me OUT of meetings so I don’t outshine her.  It’s not really working because she doesn’t have a clue that I know the people she’s trashing me to, better than she does.[/quote]

Here’s the thing: I don’t want another job. Other than this it’s just perfect. I don’t want to climb the latter, as the only job above me is my boss and I don’t want her job. She’ll retire in a few years, maybe by then I will want it but certainly not now. She doesn’t want me to outshine her and I don’t even want to outshine her anyway. I just don’t want people to think I’m stupid, because I’m not.[/quote]
