Hello, My teenager lost the key Fob to our Camry. I called the dealer and they can order a new Fob and program it for "around $500". Are there any cheaper, but as dependable, options? I'm thinking that dealers always tend to be the most expensive option. What if the key was actually stolen and one of his friends has it. Any way to prevent the "lost key" from working? Thanks.
Do you have a current key fob, or did he lose the only one? If you have a current one, ace hardware can do it for a lot cheaper. The big downside would be if he lost if at school or in your neighborhood because then someone has a key to your car and can easily find out which car it is. If he lost the only fob, you probably need a mechanic
I have a spare key Fob.
