I am bored and procrastinating doing my vacuuming. My DD applied RD to the following schools and I'd like feedback on which order you would place them and why. They are listed in alphabetical order. Ignore cost in your decision making. Just interested in perceptions and speculation. If she doesn't get in to any of these, she will go to UMCP where was admitted EA, and which she is completely happy with and considering. Amherst Bates Hamilton Kenyon Swarthmore Tufts Wesleyan William & Mary (OOS) Williams
1st tier - strong appeal to me based on what I've heard grads say, liberal arts focus Swarthmore - intellectual, near local to DMV W&M - a classic, nearby 2nd tier - location/geographic preferences for Boston, Massachusetts, NY State Amherst Hamilton Tufts 3rd tier Bates - why Maine? So many good schools closer Wesleyan-know nothing about it Kenyon--less brand reco on East Coast My advice is worth what you paid for it. You should probably vacuum and I should go throw a load of laundry in. FWIW, I currently live in the Midwest and grew up in 3 states...so have been around. But have East Coast WASP roots.
