1- This was the first month I used the monitor. 2- No I have never used the charting before. But, it is a good suggestion to use it and share it with my RE. I don't know if this has been the case before since I started using the monitor this month. 3- My acupuncturist looked at this data and said I ovulate late and my luteal phase is too short to support a pregnancy. She said the norm is to ovulate on day 14 or before to have a longer luteal phase. BK
I would not necessarily go by the word of an acupuncturist over the author of TCoYF or an RE. I have always read that it's shorter than 10 days that make for worrisome luteal phases. The norm may be a 14 day luteal phase, but that doesn't mean that you must have exactly that length to support a healthy pregnancy. And the 28-day cycle is not even the most common length of cycle! Most women fall above or below that. Heck, the average cycle is actually 29 days, but for some reason there's this myth that it's 28. Plus, anything from 15 to 45 days can be in the range of normal. I'd do a few more months of monitoring and get a good idea of where you are before you worry.
