If you are just going by the RL website, it isn't always accurate. MY DD's RL team has an extra 4 players on the online roster because they guest played in a tournament pre-season and are listed on the roster. However, they don't play with the team during the season, so what looks like a roster of 20 players is really only 16. Not sure what other clubs experience is. Also, as girls get older, there is likely to always be 1-2 injuries, so that cuts the number of players for a particular game.
This. DD's old team rostered anyone they might use at some point in the season. Talk to the coach if you are concerned. RL is not ECNL- there is no excuse for rostering more kids than you can dress on a regular basis
Kids get injured all the time. Vary rarely do high school ages have kids that sit in a game since injuries occur. I think it's important to have more than 18.
18 allows for multiple injuries at the same time. You can also move kids up from other teams. RL is not ECNL. This kids are paying to play, not positioning themselves for college recruitment
RL families will disagree with your statement there.
