I normally think of those as second grade readers.[/quote] Yeah, I have a second grader and he is just reading Magic Treehouse and Dragon Masters on his own, although he probably could have read them earlier in the year. He did not have the skills to read these last year, but he's always been on grade level according to his teacher. Several of his friends were reading chapter books last year however. I think there are a lot of advanced readers in this area and their parents probably think that is normal and any child who isn't must be "behind." :? [/quote]
