Depends on what you're looking for and what level your dd has most recently played. But if we're talking about the strongest team by wins, losses and draws... I'll go out on a limb and say Union is currently the best team in the area for the 2010 age group beating all ECNL teams in the northern Virginia area in the last two years. It's one blemish on it's record being a 1-0 loss to Brave last year. Their coaching staff is polarizing to say the least. FCV was up there and probably eclipsed Union in the early fall but seems to have fallen off recently with some poor results recently vs. SJEB & Baltimore Celtic (1L, 1D). They also seem to be breaking up as it's been reported on this forum that a few of their girls are exploring options around the area en masse. I'd recommend staying clear until the smoke clears. VDA must be included in this conversation but as you'll hear most from this forum, they play the most direct form of soccer or kick ball. They are a very talented group plagued by injury this season. That could lead to some opportunities to a new player coming into the area. If your dd is less experienced or previously played in a 2nd league (ECNL-RL, NL, etc...) SYC GA & VAR GA are new teams being added to GA for the fall and could be good options to start at the ground level. Brave, Arlington & NVA/Loudoun are also good options but have all struggled to stay in the top 5 this year. Geographically some of these options will make more sense than others. Bottom line, make some calls, take her to some training sessions, speak to current parents and make the best choice based on what's important for you and your dd.
