This is good advice that I wish someone had given me. My mom's assisted living has gone up in price three times in the 2.5 years she has been there, and many of the promised services that were "on hold" as we re-emerged from Covid have never been reinstated. The entire management team has turned over, and there have been many staff cuts. The only time you have leverage is before your parent moves in. After that, it's too disruptive to move unless things are really terrible. I wish I'd had the forethought to negotiate for limits on price increases and a way to hold them to providing the services they promised.
This is helpful to know. How do you think you could have gone about that - both on the pricing and the resumption of services? I've experienced the curtailment of services in other areas. Was just cussing about it recently - before COVID, there was in-person. Then pivoted to Zoom and now in this low COVID era, there's just nothing, including no apologies.
