What exactly isn't working, OP? That would help us answer you. Are you getting negative results on home tests but still feel horrible? Negative results on home tests but then go get a test done by the doctor and those turn out positive? Or positive results that a doctor says were wrong--? What tests are you using -- do you mean the "free ones" delivered in the mail by the government, or free ones you picked up elsewhere? (Some libraries still have covid tests you can pick up for free, for instance.)

If you suspect you have covid and don't trust the home tests, please get one from your doctor ASAP and mask in your home until you know for certain, so you have less risk of infecting others in the home.

As someone else said, user error could be a problem, whether the wrong results are positive or negative ones. If you're referring to tests where you have to dunk and swirl the swab in a tiny "test tube" of liquid, then drop exactly X drops of liquid onto a test strip: Take care you're not leaving the swab in the tube too short a time, or dropping too many or too few drops onto the test strips. We've oversoaked test strips a time or two and threw them out, then re-tested. Same goes for Binax tests where you have to drop liquid onto the test card--it's easy to put too much or too little on there.
