Lots of good wins in here! It is always good to recognize what you have accomplished even if not publicly. I am not a public person, so sharing here makes me write it out. I myself had a dumb self-inflicted bike wreck in November. The result of that was a severe AC joint separation that likely torn all three sets of tendons attaching my collarbone (I wouldn't look at the diagrams). I wasn't allowed to lift anything with that arm for ~4 weeks. No running. Was able to ride a stationary bike indoor upright. This past week, I did a swim test and another workout - both 3000+ yards without issue. I also did a bike test on Thursday and totally smoked that compared to the last time I did it. Took one of my road bikes out on Friday because the weather was warm enough. And my running is at least on the level it was in November. I have a lot of confidence in going under 5 hours in at least one of the half ironman middle distance triathlons I have planned for this year, which is course dependent, but still feels like a good accomplishment. Also thinking I can go 1:25 or below for a stand up half marathon at some point this year. I won't catch the other guys at the front end of my group (40-44M), but I still feel good about all this. I restarted all this during a fitness/weight loss journey in 2020 (lost ~90-100 lbs. overall), and ran 30 minutes non-stop for the first time in 15 years in July of 2021. Its amazing what you can accomplish with consistency. I hope everybody else keeps dunking on themselves, since its a competition with yourself anyways!
