NP here. Not to hijack thread but neither OP nor I nor many probably know the process for accepting a job when you have vacation plans. When exactly do you tell new employer? Before the offer? When accepting the offer? And do you have to say, I know it will be unpaid? Thanks
It depends on the company. Our days accrue as we work. 4 weeks (20 days) a year to start, So about 1.5 days a month. My company uses software, so if you put in the dates it would be a negative and it would probably deduct from your upcoming paycheck. This happens all the time. I personally would ASK recruiter what you should do. But although the recruiter is in HR, they usually don’t handle this part of administration They will likely just tell you to work it out to your manager. (Now when you talk to your manager, you could say you “mentioned” it to the recruiter). Informally, the manager would likely allow you to take the days and officially log them in after they are earned.
